COLLAGE

My interest in collage as an artistic method came when I was considering bricolage – the interdisciplinary convergence of research methods, theories and philosophies. I was interested in experimenting with the material as a way to think/feel through the semiotic. As I have continued my collaging practice, I have tried to imagine it, too, as a form of repair, in its exploration of materials being disassembled and assembled differently (Crosby & Adams Stein, 2020).

Below are collages created in 2021-2025.

re:materia: digital collage

A woman in red who attended the re:materia exhi’pit back in May captured me, so I created a collage short about how I imagined her move with waste ideas.
Animated paper, gouache and waste collage + Vivaldi dubstep remix by We Are One project; pianist Lionel Yu, violinist Soo Yeon Kim (2022) layered over sounds of waste disposal.
