This participatory space was set up at Capilano University for The Conference of Childhoods and Pedagogies, formerly known as the Northshore ECE (NSEC) Conference, a yearly event hosted by the Centre for Research and Childhood Studies within the School of Education and Childhood Studies of Capilano University’s Faculty of Education, Health, and Human Development.
The installation invites visitors to move through colours, engage with and respond to documentation and propositions offered, and consider that our intimate, obsessive, affective relationships with colour may be thought of as “the result of some ‘absolutely striking’ peculiarity of colour <…> Colour has struck, and without either the subject or the experimenter willing it so, it has exceeded” (Massumi, 2000, p. 180).
