How might we return and retell an episode from one’s life or a memory held dear in a one-page wordless comic strip? Here are some of my ideas, accompanied by text (digital drawings, 2026)

That time when I was little and we hanged out in our neighbourhood all day, jumping garage roofs and playing with mercury leaking from broken thermometers thrown away by a local hospital. I got in trouble for it, too

That time I went to a Halloween scarry house at CNE, got terrified and screamed so much, an actor had to take their mask off and lead me to an emergency exit

That time I had to spend a month of my 7th grade summer in a hospital and my mum came to visit and brought me cherries

That time when I was little and my family thought I was crying all the time because I missed my aunt, but in fact a piece of metal got embedded in my eye from when I was looking out of the train window

That time I, as an international student, moved to my first homestay only to find out it a colony of cockroaches were already living there and I wasn’t brave enough to squish them

That time we moved to the country and thought living outside the city was wonderful, only to find out that nights in the country are filled with scary sounds and movements of unknown origin

That time I rode an overcrowded subway and almost lost my wallet (I have my suspicions how)
